The COATTEC products are based on material that is comprised
of a polyurethane formulation technique which provides coating
enhancements and protection for a wide variety of surfaces
and applications with substantial competing advantages of
cost, efficiency and bonding properties as well as products
for which the material is adaptable. The liquid polyurethane
coating, which is applied cold, is a specially designed spraying
process, but can also be adapted to dipping techniques.
The propriatary COATTEC material is manufactured using a combination
of aliphatic and aromatic polyurethane which results in a
multi-use chemical material with characteristics which combine
aliphatic polyurethane's hardness and resistance to fire,
ultra violet rays, a variety of harmful chemicals including
hydrochloric and sulfuric acid up to 25%, with aromatic polyuretnane's
softness, pliability, flexibility (elasticity over 500%),
finished appearance and abilities to hold color and finish
for very long periods. It is physiologically unobjectionable
as well as totally recyclable, biodegradeable and environmentally
safe.
The COATTEC material is used both a coating product and a
process that is capable of hosting additives, such as coloration,
antibacterial materials, electric conductive materials, as
well as a raw material used in manufacturing products such
as vapor barriers for housing which are effective substitutes
for tar-lined paper and have superior performance characteristics
and generally improved cost economics.
There are several hundred discrete COATTEC formulae that contain
among other ingredients varying amounts of each of the aromatic
and aliphatic polyurethane, and, thus vary the properties
of the coating to provide precise specifications dependent
upon utilization. The particularities of different coating
application processes enhance the protection of the COATTEC
know-how.
